With an uptick in local positives in recent days, health officials expressed their concern for the continued need for social distancing, the wearing of masks and the present need to follow the CDC’s guidelines for containing the spread of COVID-19.
Through the discussion, it was decided to proceed with both the parade and the fireworks, with plenty of communication with the public about the risks associated with COVID-19. Masks are encouraged at both the parade and fireworks, and individuals are encouraged to attend only with members of their households and to socially distance from individuals outside of their homes. “We want families to enjoy this holiday and enjoy their time together, but in the safest manner possible,” said Judge Spiller.
